With great sadness we would like to inform, that our dear techer, Khenpo Chowang, passed into parinirvana. All who were fortunate to listen to his teachings were impressed by his humility, profound faith and certainty which comes only from the personal experience of Buddhadharma. As a practitioner, Khenpo was affiliated with Jangter tradition and Gongjang Monastery in Gangtok, Sikkim.

The speach of Chhimed Gyaltsen Rinpoche

...Generally speaking, there is a system or custom of commemorating of the anniversary of passing away one's own teacher in our tradition. I came here 2 or 3 times and did not see that you are not doing such a thing. So I decided from next year onwards we should try to organize the anniversary of our teacher, who has been passed away a long time ago. We can do the commemoration for one week or 8 days depending on whey you have available time. According to this, we can set time and will be at least one week. During this one week, we are going to do tsok offering as well as recite „The Noble Khing of Aspiration Prayer”. So once the date and everything will be confirmed, make sure that everyone will be available here and once the organizer organizes it everyone should try to participate in that anniversary. There are many reasons why we should commemorate the anniversary of our own master. By doing such activity like commemorating our teacher, we are actually repaying the kindness of our guru and it will help us to accumulate the merits and purify the negative dids as well. So, therefore, this kind of anniversary is very very important...

Three years teachings program

Chhimed Gyaltsen Rinpoche designed a program of teachings which suits
the needs of our sangha and it will create a firm base ensuring progress of our practice. This program covers the whole path to the ultimate result that is Buddhahood. Rinpoche assigned Khenpo Tsangyang Nyima for this task.

In the past two years, Khenpo La was teaching about renunciation. Without it, there is no genuine practice and there is no result and about developing Bodhichitta. This year we will receive teachings about emptiness according to Aryadeva's Buma Shyi Gyapa (Four Hundred Verses).
